Darcie Abbene

Darcie is an editor at HCI Books. Previously, she was the managing and nonfiction editor at the Green Mountains Review, Editorial Project Manager at School Library Journal and Part Time Faculty in the Writing and Literature Department at Northern Vermont University. She is also a contributing editor at Aspiring Author and a manuscript editor and writing coach at WriteByNight. Darcie regularly reviews books for Kirkus Reviews, Necessary Fiction, and Split Rock Review. 

After studying English Literature at Saint Michael’s College and earning a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Vermont, Darcie taught high school English for seven years in New Hampshire and Vermont. Later, she worked as a Writing Coach for the Young Writers Project. Darcie holds a Master's of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the Stonecoast MFA program at the University of Southern Maine.  

Darcie is represented by Matt Bialer of Sanford J. Greenburger Associates.
